RBTA feeding ?

Ok so I was wondering if there was something else I could feed my RBTA other than silver sides. I was told I could mix some Kent products, such as the microvert, zooplex, and chromaplex. And use 1.5 ML. And target feed it at its mouth, but I'm not sure about it. Ideas or opinions?

Mine get fed regular white shrimp and scallops from the grocery store. And mysis shrimp.

well i personally don't like the idea of feeding him silver sides, and then him possibly spitting it out, 1) because my tank isn't stocked enough to have it devoured later on by something else, and because i work 12 to 16 hours a day, i wouldn't really have enough time to take it out if it did take spit it out, so i don't like the idea of the spit out left overs just kicking it in my nano. 2) i can not find silver sides in any store, and the only thing i could find was sardines "YUK"..... so thats why i was asking, now my friend feeds his coral by target feeding with kent products, so he's the one who said he couldn't imagine why it wouldn't work the same, said the nem's have very slow digestion, and it takes them alot of energy to digest the food. so i was looking for something smaller, and i guess with no bone in it.

so you say scallops, sounds like something i can cut into smaller peices and just drop them on it's mouth.

I chop it into small pieces and you can use a turkey baster or one of those target feeding tubes and just let the food float into its tentacles. It will grab the food and move it to its mouth itself. And you dont need to give it much. My clowns feed their anemone. I never feed them, so the anemone only gets a couple really small pieces a day. The shrimp and scallops are chopped into pieces about 3-4mm.

Just make sure whatever you get is raw, not cooked. Any type of raw seafood from the meat counter would be fine, like fish filets, shrimp, scallops, mussels, etc. As for packaged frozen fish foods, mine like frozen krill, clams, squid, and mysis. I just chop or break it into small pieces. Jumbo shrimp and salmon filets are two of the absolute favorites of my fish, corals, and anemones.

+1 on the krill, silversides, squid and mysis - I cut into pieces also and feed them a variety. When I feed silversides, I cut into pieces about a 1/2" or so - 1 silverside feeds 3 RBTAs, a coral-banded and a bunch of hermits/peps.

I have a large bag of silver sides for you for FREE, it you can make it up here. I do not use it anymore since my PT trigger is no longer in the tank..it is just sitting here..has a little freezer burn on it, but still good.

if not, then understand...i feed my RBTAs what ever i feed my fish..i do not turn off pumps and let my skimmer handle the rest..I have 7 large dinner plate sized RBTAs.

Krill, clams & squid pieces are good too. I think I use oysters too. I rinse in rodi water and then soak everything in vitamins and garlic extreme for my fish, so thats what my anemone gets. I dont feed clams, becuase I dont want my fish getting a taste for them and going after my live clams.

if you have the proper lighting and environment, they really don't need fed. Have 3 large ones and maybe once every 2 or 3 weeks I will feed them.

I feed mine slices of shrimp, clams and squid. They like it quite a bit. Initially i used to feed them once a week, we liked watching them feed. Now it's like once every 3-4 weeks.

they do need to eat as they are an animal. Maybe not as much as a fish but deff more than a coral. ??? :? lol-i usually just wave some around em when i feed the fish. I like Rods brand and everything is doing great.

I have never fed my rbta. I got it when it was about the size of a large coffee cup. Now its a little bigger than a dinner plate. Its even split once.

I just feed squid, shrimp, scallops from grocery store. I actually never feed them, except on the rare occassion that my eel doesn't eat. They grow too fast if I feed them. They live and thrive without being spot fed, as mine have undergone many divisions and are very large and happy

+1 Feed a small piece of fresh shrimp sometimes.

everytime i feed my rbta it will move that night. so i took it taht was happy with only my clown feeding it.
