Just showing off our RBTA. We got it 2 years ago from Natalia. The clowns keep laying eggs under him but we still haven't been able to get them out.

I went to Lowes and bought some kitchen counter tiles. I then used a tile drill bit and drilled holes in the tiles so that I could secure the tile to the rockwork.
My clowns spawn on the tile, and I would remove the tile and replace with a new one. I traded the eggs to a local who raised and sold them.

Thank you maxx. Right now the biggest obstacle is talking my wife into setting up a 4th tank when we are still working on tanks 2 and 3.

LOL....
try appealing to her motherly instincts...
She wouldn't want all those baby clowns to die a horrible death being sucked into your filter system would she?
Besides, if you go through all the trouble of raising the clowns on your own, you'll be able to sell them to local stores for money!

I'm hoping if we can get the babies from our mating banggai cardinals into a breeding net and raise them, maybe she will want to do the clowns too.

Alledgedly, raising clowns is easier than raising Cardinals...

I'm envious! I would love breed clownfish. Some types are easier than others to get to breed. I had black saddlebacks for YEARS & they never spawned. They were rough on anemones too. I have a large black onyx percula & would like to get a small male but percula clowns seem to only come as misbar or designer these days. I have 4 blue lip clownfish. 2 are paired in a rbta, the other 2 are females. I do have good luck breeding rbta but they are easy.

I don't know how often rbta split, but ours has never split. Even this one was cut from another one. I have a ten gallon tank sitting in our garage With everything ready to be set up. All I need is space now to raise the babies.
