reef vital DNA?

Anyone ever hear of this product? I was looking at the ingredients and there is copper in it, how can that be reef safe?

Hmmm....I wonder what concentration the copper is. I had asked about copper sulfates in foods before: Copper Sulfate in Foods. It looks like Marc Weiss is promoting it as a trace mineral. Agreed. This statement alone would scare me away, "Derived from ferment of"
explains why "corals open up".

Most of us consider Marc Weiss stuff as "sanke oil". I am sometimes amazed at claims of needed trace elemnets, that need to be sup'd. On that long list I saw no Vandium, yet Vandium is a function of the living life of all Ascidians. They suck it out of seawater like a sponge, as they have to, their blood is made of Vandium.

Most hobbyists I've spoken to who have experimented with Marc Weiss products say it does little more than cause a nice algae explosion in their tanks with a bit of browning of coral tissue to go along with it. I personally have never used his products so I don't speak from actual experience here, but I also don't need to get bit by a rattlesnake to believe it's poisonous...

Indeed Mike, Indeed. A friend who has gotten out of the hobby had a bottle of this sitting in his fridge, he mentioned his tank loved it but could not explain why, so I figured I would ask here. Thanks for the replies!

Why would they open up?

Sugar will get the corals to open up. The fermentation requires sugar of some sort along with the yeast.
