Would you please give me your opinion on how this should be set up? I currently have a 500 gal display with 1000 lbs of LR. I am downsizing to a 144 gal. I plan on having a large fuge approx (300 gal) I had originally planned on having it full of LR from my current main but everyone is suggesting against it. How would you suggest setting up the fuge?
Thanks.

as Steve sais... you need to address what your goal is for the fuge to do before we can design how to do it. That is to say... are you looking to bank, recycle or export nutrients? Are you looking for pod production? If so... what kind of pods? Amphipods for fishes? Copepods for corals and tiny fishes? All require different fuge setups.

Please list your tanks' species and bioload.

its generally a very shoddy way to run a refugium when most refugia are already too small. I never recommend it. Worse still is that multiple planst and algae (or soft corals) will be stimulated by the crowding and produce excess coral inhibiting compounds! How ironic.
