So i've had my fuge running for about a month, and am curious if it would be better to run it without rock. I want to know your opinions on if i should take out the 8-10 3x4 inch rocks due to it seems to be trapping detritus. Should i just blow the rocks off just like i do my display? Its a pretty good amount of die off under the chateo on the surface of the rocks. Thanks.

you should do a siphon (if you can) and clean the detritus, then, put a powerhead down there to keep the future detritus in suspension.

one thing that works great is to use a shop vac... amounting to a clean-up and water change out of your fuge.

Yep, lots of flow. I have LR rubble in my 20 gallon fuge; pieces ranging from grape sized to maybe hafl the size of the palm of your hand. I'm not seeing any detritus build up and I use a couple of K1's in set up to move the water around in sort of a gyre fashion.

I have about 20lbs of rock in my Fuge. I take everything out and put in buckets and use a Shop Vac to take out all the Detritus and im sure some other stuff. But when i put everthing back with the calurpa and chateo and other algaes i get very good growth. Im trimming pretty much 1-2 times a month. I clean it out about every 2-3 months.
