I got my groovy new auto shutoff valve for my groovy new rodi unit. It (valve) was broken during shipping and the replacement finally arived. Since it has no instructions, I would like to know how to install it. It has two push in fittings on top and two on bottom. I took the broke one apart and the top two would flow and the bottom two would flow. Since my best thinking has got me in trouble before, I would like some input from others. I think if I cut the inlet line from water pipe and place on top of valve, and cut the outlet line to my float valve and put in the bottom it will work. Is this correct? Thanks for your help. Steve

Anybody have one hooked up to thier ro system. I emptied my 44 gal brute so I could get in to work on it. Its just a simple 4 inlet/outlet valve. You could really make my day and send a picture of yours hooked up and working. Steve Thanks again

Here is a photo of the way the manufacturer told me to install it. ( I think) anyway. It is a 4 way top right of picture says in top left says out. Cut line from 3rd pre filter and put to inlet at top out port on top to inlet of ro filter membrane. Inlet port on bottom to the discharge from ro filter and outlet port on bottom to a kent marine floatvalve that is working properly. I am haveing a vibrating noise and the water starts to flow out of the yellow waste water line, it slow to a trickle and them brrrppph and it starts to flow again. I have adjusted the valve at the water inlet to system (red line) from full on to almost off and it does the same thing. (I think because line pressure does not change just amount of flow.) Any body know what to do? Steve

Ok followed the trouble shooting part. Only part that I see that applied was the "if there is any air in the shutoff valve it will not shut off. Disconnected as per instructions and ran unit tapped valve to dislodge any air. Hooked it back up and still the same thing. I may have a bad valve. Something I learned as a mechanic, New means New. It does not in any way shape or form mean the part is good. However This problem may be operator error. I just dont know yet. Thanks for trying Curt. Steve

Thanks Gordo. I have it hooked up just like that. It still does not work. Must be a bad part. I sent a photo to the manufacturer. Who knows. Its just darn inconvient is all. Could easily be that I am just wrong and I will have to find out. Or I could just buy one of the cool solinoid kind like chuck has. Thanks Steve

Found out the problem. The manufacutur left out the check valve. I sent photos to them. He is sending a check valve out today. Thanks for all your help. Steve

I cut/pasted these instructions - they include installation of the check valve:

INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF VALVE

For ease of discussion, let’s call the four ports in the automatic shutoff valve:

1. Top-in (high pressure-in, marked "in")
2. Top-out (high pressure-out, marked "out")
3. Bottom-in (on the same side as the top-in)
4. Bottom-out (on the same side as the top-out).

In general, water should flow from your sediment housing to carbon block to:
 top-in port, to
 top-out port, to
 RO housing in fitting, to
 RO exit ports. Note that the RO housing has two exit ports; the permeate ("good water") port is near the center of the end of the housing. The waste water port is near the edge of the same end of the RO housing.

Tubing should be installed to go from the permeate port to
 a check valve, to
 the bottom-in port on the ASOV, to
 bottom-out port, to
 DI housing (if you have one), to
 your final use.
