So here's what I have going right now. An LED light on the top which only lights half of the tank because you cannot put coral where light is not showing. I am wondering if it would be worth the extra $50 to get another or if it would be better to return the LED light and get a halide instead. Your thoughts?

first off, put the light fixture in the middle of the tank, and then place the corals accordingly, i doubt you have so many corals that the area cant accomodate them.
then, take the plastic cover off and unscrew the optics from the leds... they come right off and then the light area wont be so narrow.
also, keep in mind that this company does sell units that are sub par... hence why i said your led might only last like 2 maybe 3 years or so...
but you dont haver to deal with the bulb changes, heat, and potential shytte ballasts and bulbs included with the metal halide units they sell from here.
if your going to invest in mh bulbs and ballasts then save up and spend some coin on a real light fixture.
in the mean time if after taking off the optics from the leds you still think its not enuf, then get another $50 led, imo.
