SCWD and Mag 12.

I know there're people here who use this combo on closed loops, so what can you tell about switching times - is it really switching every 3 seconds, or is it longer?

it is very quick, dont think its ajustable, thats the ony complaint about them so far.

Mine has slowed down over time but then I'm sure I need to clean it out. I really like the random current. My only complaint with the SQWD is that you can easily overtighten your hose clamps. I cracked my caseing but then fixed it with epoxy. Just and fyi to be gentle with it.

ever heard of any horror stories of the clamps not being tight enough? id freak if they came undone.

I have mine within 6 seconds. Not enough. Too fast. The flow barely reach the other end of the tank because the other end already started. Its good if you direct the flow from the front to the corals. It could be used directly and not indirectly. JMHO.

Rather go with that pump and sea swirl.

I used naturalsea wavemaker and several maxijets.

when i had a scwd hooked to a mag 12 it switched every 5 seconds but that all would depend on the head hight, mine was at a 1 ft head.
