seaswirl broke, any ideas?

So my 1'' sea swirl did not last very long at all, (about 2 weeks in all) I was mindfull of the placement so snails on the glass were not possible to block the nozzel, but that was not enough, the mounting bracket they put on it is a very poor design, the thumb screws on the bracket clear the nozzel by only 1/4'' when it is turned all the way either direction, so if your getting the idea.... yeah a snail was on the thumb screw (part of the unit itself) and when the nozzel reached it the unit stripped and no longer works, boy am I P!@#$% off about this!

what should I do about it? can they be repaired?

That sucks!

Yes, they can be repaired by buying a new motor assembly with attached gearbox.
Katchupoy fixed a 3/4" one himself by opening it up and adjusting the gears. I would mess with it first before buying the parts. You can also email the manufacturer about parts.

I think I fix their bracket before I fix the unit, it will just happen again and again.

Let us know how the fix goes. I've never had an issue with my sea swirl and its a couple of years old. *knocking on wood*.....
