The first meeting of the year is coming up fast (September 13th). We're planning a frag swap, as well as a PSAS sponsored sandbed giveaway. For the sand, we ordered detrivore kits from IPSF and Inland Aquatics. The kits have been busy populating a bed that is attached to Mike O'Brien's tank. He will be removing it and bringing the tub to the meeting. All dues paying members will be invited to take a scoop of sand home to seed their beds. Make sure to bring extra bags to take home some sand.

As far as the frag swap goes, let's use this thread to make swaps in advance. Post what you've got for trade (pictures if available). Please bring some zip lock bags with you to the meeting to haul away any trades you make. As in prior swaps, we'll have several tanks setup for displaying frags.

See you all soon!

Paul M.

1. Brown with green center button polyps (Protopalyathoa), flourescing lime under actinic. Nice looking and fast spreading. Will trade for other nice colors of the Zoanthus family. Will only have a few pieces with 3-4 polyps each.
2. Hydnophora micronos. Massive, encrusting growth form of bright green Hydno with very short polyps. Very flourescent. I will trade for fuzzy pink Stylophora, only.
3. Acropora known as "Green Slimer". Small pieces encrusted on a small piece of rock. Brown under 6500k, flourescing green with actinic. These are free, and they are easy to keep.
3. Sargassum seaweed. Low-growing bushy species. Doesn't spread easily by fragmentation in the tank. Also good floating in refugia. These will be floating pieces and are free.
4. "Grape" caulerpa, two specie. These are resistant to "going sexual". Also free.
5. Stomatella snails. Small, night active snails that will propagate freely in most tanks. Free.

I'm looking for: Seagrass, and seaweeds that are unusual in the hobby. Fuzzy pink stylo or pocilo.

unfortunately i don't have anything to trade as of yet but i am going to have a little cash.

i am interested in the Acropora you have. Sounds like it would be easy to take care of in my newly cycled tank.

(sorry in advance if this is a stupid question but...)

Will there be frags available for purchase if we have nothing to trade? (Sorry I am realtively new to this club.)

I might be interested in some of the seaweed or snails if my tank's ready by then. Since it's a new tank I have nothing for trade yet, unless you want a gallon ziplock of fresh-picked blackberries :)

ngng: free stag frag on rock.
mattseattle: free stag frag on rock.
deadrose: free bag mixed seaweed with some Stomatellas. Most likely will get some other microverts in there like microstars and pink bristleworms. All good stuff for a new tank.

Cool, thanks! So did you want some blackberries? Or a bunch of baby convict cichlids? :-D

Typically we open the swap with trades only and after 20-30 minutes it turns into a make your best deal type of meeting. There should be plenty of frags to purchase for people that don't have frags to trade.

If I could get some of that seaweed and stomatellas too, it'd be much appreciated Howard. :) I don't have anything to trade either... unless you happen to want a scopas tang that only eats flake and meat and no algae.

Hey ya'll
I just had my Rose BTA split this last weekend. I'm definitly going to try to make it to the swap (I'm getting 3 or 4 teeth pulled the day before). But I wanted to setup a swap before the actual date to make things easier. I'm just looking for a variety of frags. I mostly have soft corals right now but want to start keeping some stonies now that I have my MHs.
Let me know what you've got and any pics if you've got 'em and we can make a deal.
Thanks,
Ryan

Gordo,

Thanks for the reply! I'm looking forward to the first meeting of PSAS this year. I was only able to attend the .. second to last (Thai in Redmond) one last year. I hope to be an active participant in the club this year though.

Hey
I got to trade are crocea clams and yellow polyps.

Looking for all kinds of soft corals, any reef safe fish, and other clams.

Let me know.

I dont have anything to trade except for my three goldfish, but willing to buy some... looking forward on that green slime from piercho.

Maybe I can bring my 10 gallon/refugium complete with live sand and caulerpa for trade.

And also, I am deadly serious about my three goldfish. Anybody interested?
