should i clean my sand at this time

hello all i would like to thank all who may reply to this message. i have a 55gal tank and for the last week or so i have noticed that my 2 inch nemo clown fish has been moving sand by her home, i kind of need to do a sand cleaning but i am not sure if i should if she is breeding i do not want to disturb her, what do all you pro's think i should do.

Scottie - you could clean the sand in other areas of the tank if you don't want to disturb her. She might let you know if you are getting too close.

If she is clearing sand then I think she hasn't laid eggs yet just getting ready. A lot of times they go through the motions and don't lay anything at all. Mine moved all kinds of stuff when my anemonie decided to change locations. I saw her pick up a small hermit crab once and take it half way across the tank and drop it. :lol: You don't have to clean in that area if you don't want to but if you do it's like Nikki said she will let you know if you are getting too close.

This is normal behavior of clownfish. I believe this is a way they are saying, "back off, its my space". I have pairs of maroons and clarkiis. If i put my face close the acrylic panel, they will face me, turn around and 'tail-swish' the sand near me.

This is a normal and healthy response. Does not necessarily mean the pair is breeding.

Elmo - what type of behavior do you see right before the female lays eggs? Anything note worthy? Also, is there a specific type of tile to use for the eggs? (I thought I remember seeing one in a tank pic you have)
