I have an angel fish in a QT. Im adding "odin ex" to the QT to treat ick. (Guy who works at the Chicago Shedd Aquarium said it was good stuff, so I took his word for it) Anyway, It needs to be in there for about 10 more days. He said not to do water changes while the fish are in a QT. I just checked my NO3 levels, in the QT, and they are high. Should I do a water change? Wont this defeat the purpose of medicating it? Acoording to Red Sea test my NO3 level is at 20 on the low range side.

if someone ever told me that, i would never take advise from them again!!!!! if you don't perform the WC's, you might have to worry about more than the ich problem, especially if your qt tank wasn't cycled!! you need to dose your new makeup water before you add it(with the correct amount per gallon)...what is Odin Ex???? what is the main ingredient???

Just remember your fish can handle No3 better that corals and intraverts. It is ok to run Fish only tanks to NO3 of 100

Appears to be a Copper Sulphate treatment. Be sure nothing from the QT tank with the exception of the live fish makes it into your display.

how long has the treatment been going for?????? 10 days is not alot, but to say to never do water changes while the fish are in a QT....that is absurd....i wouldn't worry if it only has to go for 10 days, but keep an eye on your water parameters

The guy said that it should be in treated for 12 days total. What should I worry about other than NO3 and ALK/PH in the QT tank? Thanks for all the help!!!

i would keep an eye on the ammonia levels..copper can kill off some of your bio-filter, causing a small cycle...
