Shouldn't it be "Zoa"

Just joined the not too long ago. When looking at the forums I saw this one. Shouldn't it be labeled "zoa" instead of "zoo" since it's spelled Zoanthid and not Zoonthid?

hmmm...... ok , i think some people call them zoos and some zoas.
For me the name of the forum sounds kewl.
Besides it's not about the name, it's about what's inside .

You are correct though that they are Zoa's and not Zoo's.

you are quite correct on the zoo's, but I guess it's the way the world is going, there is a whole new language evolving what with Internet Chat, cellphone sms/text, LOL, HTH etc.

You are right, but us reefers have special words for stuff, like:

shroom = mushroom
acro = acropora
milly = millipora

and many others that I cannot remember now.

Zooxanthellae is pronounced (zoe-zan-thel-lee). Im not sure about Zoanthid but im guessing (zoe-an-thid). I allways pronounced Zooxanthellae wrong untill I watched a documentary...and they repeated it like 500 times. It is a fun word to say.

Yeah, but there is no second "O" in Zoanthid.
