also, how hard is it for us to have one of those ad banners up in the corner that change everytime the page loads?

im just glad that it's finally getting more attention,
reed did a great job reviving it, we just need to keep going with it:)

also, i have some pretty good pics i took if we want to use them, i'll post them here as they are medium sized.

OK, got the images, very nice! I made that top header so it would be extremely easy to toss a banner onto it :D

we were planning on flying the ad banners of companies/stores who support us in the raffle for a year, until next summer's raffle, there are already several companies who have contributed who's banner we can fly, so let me know when your ready, i'll start hunting them down and sending them to you.
so, colleen & reed, if you guys can tell me who you have received stuff from, i'll retreive thier ad banners.

i know so far we have comodity axis, seachem, premium aquatics, kahuna korals, C.F.I., ocean reef aquatics, I.A.P., koraltek:)D ), dr foster and smith, pacific aquaculture, mark weiss. im sure we can count on blue sierra, shark reef, indoor reef as well. and all the folks mario is getting stuff from as well which it sounds like we will know what those are soon...i'll keep a running list going so we get everyone's banners flying high!

I think you got them all Mark. In the open forum, I listed for all to see what I know if donated, so please add to that so people can see what's available.

Sorry to miss you last night at the board meeting Josh, we talked alot about the site and what we'd like done.

First off we were all very happy to have you on board to work on the site. Here's a few things we hope you can get done pretty quickly.... no pressure of course... :) :) :)

*The banners as described above - I'd like someway to differentiate between the donators of the picnic vs the standard sponsors. Not sure if everything thinks there is a difference but I was throwing that around my brain last night.

*I'd like a history section on the site, and you can get that info from the history thread I started on the open forum. THought that would be kind of fun.

*WOuld like a monthly update of the page/site of the meetings held. I'm hoping our trusty secretary can begin making a summary of each meeting and post in a newly created (it's not yet) locked thread in the open forum, and you can cut and paste it from there. I want the meeting summary thread locked, as I have an aversion to comments about speakers we bring in like occurred a few months back. It makes me want to get ugly.

THe above are for sure and I've toyed with (talked to Josh about a few already) but what do the others think?

*I think it would be fun AND different to have a section on NEW members. Everything is about the expert or whoever has the prettiest tank. Well we can't all be that... :) I'd like to spotlight someone new such as nano_reeflover. He's just a great 15 yr old doing it all himself, with his own earned money. Mom and Dad do nothing but drive him around collecting his goods. He'd be my vote for the first one if we get that far. He isn't a member of PSAS, but i will take care of that. It could even be random amongst new members signing up.

We've talked about pictures of events, etc.

So Josh, get busy and make it a terrific site as we know you can do!

Others please feel free to throw all your ideas out here.

Shauna had a terrific idea too, and that is to include www.thepsas.org on all of our signatures when we go and post on RF or any other reef site we might get some people that way.

Josh, I noticed you recreated a new site, but it will need the www.thepsas.org name, is that going to happen? Sorry I'm a bit low tech on that stuff.

Yes, the new site will have the thepsas.org name, I just wanted to be sure you liked it before I made it "Go-Live." I like your idea to do the banner signature, I can easily add it to mine, as I carry mine around on the most of the reef boards I visit, except for ones my admin friends won't let me carry it on...

I completely agree about the highlighting new members. That's an absolutely great idea and possibly would bring more people into the club, so they won't all think it's a just experts thing...

All the linking I can do with the lighter colored bar I put on that mockup page, so it's easy to access (Navagation menu). I like your idea of the banners, but if you're using a rotating banner in the top section of the site, it would be much easier to just put the banner, and take it down after a set amount of time, and actually describe their sponsorship level on another page... :D

is it going to get any images on the top header or just a revolving banner?
mabye we could come up with a new logo and use it for the psas website and whatnot, i've been working on some for the t-shirts and posters, i'll post them and see what you guys think, it would be good if we could we could make it the same for the posters, t shirts, website, etc..etc..
 
We need to take off the non-profit part at the top.

what is different about the second one?
I see the BOD names are gone but pretty much looks the same?
 
no, i think we should leave it until we finally decide one way or another, besides even if we arent legitimately non profit, at least we are in spirit,
we certainly arent profiting off anyone:)
 
I redid all the internal code.

So...

#1 it will load faster

#2 half the terms used before had become deprecated, so will eventually be removed from browsers. :)

I will go add the new names in.

mine is [email protected], and just for the record, my last name is spelled riemer, not raemer or however it was spelled on the old website, i was hoping to have that changed:)
it loads and looks great josh!! i was wondering though if we can have a pic or 2 on the headder, or is there going to be banners rotating on the headder?
