Skimmer pole

Beckett skimmer hands down, nothing beats the beckett for bubble diam. size. My custom downdraft skimmer that I ran on my 100 gallon is the nasty.

needle wheels skimmers are good at skimming, not the most expensive, and easy to use. There are better but they might cost more and use a large pump. bang for the buck ASM G-3, I have a euroreef.

I disagree with you on the beckett statement moonpod... I think if you use a large enough air pump, you will produce far more air at a significant energy savings when compared to a beckett.

The airtech 40 pump uses around 40 W to produce 48lpm at 2 meters. Say you lose some of that pressure and airflow to the airstones and lose some PSI to the water height, which most likely will not exceed 2 feet in these bubble producing monsters, let's say you get that 48lpm with stones and with 2 feet of water over them. That's 2880 lph... pretty much hitting the highest end 2 properly driven becketts and two of the smaller red dragon pumps can achieve I believe and we're talking about Iwaki100rlt power here so it isn't cheap to achieve those numbers on the becketts.

Peace,

Supposedly, the big skimmer comparison has revealed that each of the 1260 eheim pumps on the deltecs only produce 600lph... that's pretty weak and then the ER pumps only produced 400lph, even weaker :(

But that RD pump produced 1500 lph just like they were stated to put out. :) A very impressive pump to say the least.

Peace,
John H.
