My green arco sps coral was suddenly had a white spot at the root and started dying up just in two days while the others are still fine. anyone know why the cause ?

Have you tested your water parameters lately?
This can happen if there is a swing in some of the parameters such as alkalinity or even temp. some coral can handle parameter changes better than others. Some times there is no noticeable reason. But until we have some info, no one will be able to speculate why.

12 is a bit high but as long as it is steady shouldn't be an issue. Alk swings are the most common reason SPS corals recede from the base. Was this coral new to the tank? Was it a large white spot or a few small ones? Did it look like pale skin or was it suddenly missing flesh?

Hi, I'm not sure. one of the arco was touch the chalice coral, both of them were turn white and spread out, and gone in two day. the other arco was stay by itself, suddently had a white spot on one branch and spread out. do you know what caused it? thanks for help.

Hmmm, With SPS corals its real hard to pin point why one will suddenly die. It sounds like the first one died from a fight with a chalice. The second one could also be a casualty of the chemical warfare the first two had. I would do a large water change and run carbon. As long as no others are looking badly I wouldnt worry at the moment.

Carbon for Fresh water and Saltwater tanks, sold in any Local fish store and most pet sections of most retail stores. It removes toxins and pollutants from the water.
