Hello all,
I am in Tacoma, I came home from PNWMAC with 4 very nice sps frags. They need a home intil I can get my 120 setup. I would be happy to work out a deal!

Dave

ps pm me please or email me at [email protected]

Did all of your frags make it OK Dave? I had some issues with mine by the time I got them home. I am hoping they pull through. It was great meeting you.

2 look ok 1 looks slightly bleached and another looks totally bleached......all my softies did ok except for my xenia.....it was toast!!!

Yep, not having a whole lot of luck with the overnight packaging. I've got to figure out how the pros do it. Maybe we'll have a "let's talk about coral transport" thread.

Good luck with the ones that you have. I hope they make it.

I'm sorry that some of your frags did not make it. If they were any from my tank, I will work with you to replace them as I do have more that I can harvest. Towards the end of the night we were running out of bags and did run completly out, that may be why some SPS got multiples in one bag. I know the ones I bagged I did try to wrap them with other bags to keep them from touching. Just send me a PM about what you lost.

Rick

Ahhh Rico I am not trying to place blame or fault I think we were all getting tired. I wouldn't know the name of them to tel you what i lost. I will just keep watching them and see how they do!

Rick, man you are such a nice guy! It seems to be inevitable in the overnight holding of corals that you have problems of some kind. I think the stress just got to some of them. This just means that I have an excuse to head back out to the Tri-Cities to see your tank again and visit with you folks again (and look for frags of course ;)). The only one that I am really bummed about is the frag of your teal acro. It seems to be sluffing flesh quickly on me.

Reed,

No problem on the Teal Acro, I have lots of it and can send you some or we can keep in touch and when one of us crosses the mountains, we'll get you a frag. I may be heading that way in the next couple of months.

Rick

I'm sorry I missed out on all of the fun. I found this site just before your meeting, and already had a date planned with my wife. The good news is that it was in Portland, and I scored some nice stuff from Soutas. It would have been fun meeting some folks from this neck of the woods. THe other sites I USED TO hang out once in awhile seemed to have few folks from the NW. Good luck with your new frags. They may just snap put of it.

So if my sps's all seem to be loosing thier color and looking bleached white....are they dead or can they recover?

Dont toss them out yet, Let me know if you cant find a home for them. I might be able to find a spot. If not I'm sure I can find a local home.

Don

They can recover if they have just bleached. If they start sloughing off or tissue necrosis, then that part isn't likel;y to recover. If some of it retains its tissue, then yest it can regrow. I've had some miraculous recoveries.

I agree with The Claw. The frags I have from the weekend are a mixed bag. I had one that was bleached by the time I got home (I think just bad to begin with...no biggee), and the teal acro was sloughing tissue. I fragged pieces to see it they will recover. We'll have to wait and see. If you can't see any poylps at all, the coral is probably gone.

Good luck with them.

one thing i have found in shipping is that if you float them in the bag upside down with Styrofoam they seem ship better or travel better i have had great success with this especially on long trips
