I went to the photo gallery to see pictures of your tank and you don't have any there.

Have you posted any pictures that I could take a look at?

Look here chuck. I posted some of his tank last night.

Also Andrew...Still waiting on a reply to post #17 here...I'd still like to know if I'm mixed up or what because now the going natural thread is confusing me as well. Thanks

I guess I can see your confusion. I didn't actually "take the tank down" and start fresh as you know. I drained off all the water into 5 gallon bottles syphoned all the muck out of the bed really well. Reset the rock flush against the bottom of the tank did a partial water change and added back some of the exisitng water. Is that less confusing?

When I went natural which was what two weeks ago or thereabouts:doubt: there was still artifical salt water in the tank I didn't drain it all off other than what I added by volume in natural water. I have been replacing twice weekly since then so I guess it would be all natural saltwater now does that make sense or you still confused my facetious friend:badgrin: :p

Mountaindew man I will ask Krish to post some more pictures I am a poor mad scientist so he is the only one with a digital camera. That picture he took doesn't do the tank total justice though and I think the changes have been dramatic since then;)

Thanks ...

I would like to see the tank in 6 months to see how things go .... keep a photo history. In my opinion a tank revamped like that will always look great, because it is nice and "new" again (nothing against what you are doing, it is just a fact that a good overall cleanup will always look good) ... Time always is the key, a very slow and patient process for sure.

Good Luck with it.

Thanks for the support! I agree with you I think alot of what I have done in a short period of time has had a dramatic affect.;) Long as Krish keeps clicking I will keep a photo record. Might be a good excuse to get the wife a present that I can use LOL. Sometimes it is difficult to encapsulate each thing you do into a thread. I have started a log so that I can reference it when posting in future. By the way your tank is unbelievable!:)

That's cool Andrew. I was just confused (and I still am I guess because I'm retarded) because after stirring the bed and putting on the new lights and lighting up the sump etc, your tank was according to you optimum. "Never been better" you said when you called me. Corals looked great like never before and had great polyp extension, cyno was going and everything that had lost it's color re-gained it and was all thriving/survivng and all doing well. Even less periods of sliming. Thats what you told me as well as when I gave you the closed loop I made, which you said, the extra flow made a change for your corals immediately too and brought them around. So this is why I'm confused...I can't see why you would have gone to natural sea-water if your tank according to this thread was doing great. Now since going "natural" all the things you've said before have gone on the back burner (ie the tank was doing great) and now as a result of using NSW, your corals are getting their color back, and the tank has never been better (after 1 week of using NSW). That's where I'm confused as well...Too many things contradicting one another here on the forum and verbally so for me personally, I could never go "natural" because I don't know what infact did it for you. I've seen your tank many times and to be honest I can't really see any change in terms of the corals, but I guess it's because it's not really my tank. The algae for sure, has noticeably gone...So there you have it. I'm not trying to be rude or mean or anything because you know me and I'm as easy going as they come which you know is a FACT! It's just getting to a point for me now where I just want to stick my fingers in my ears and scream because I'm totlly lost confused and don't know what to think about anything said anymore...

Oh yeah, BTW, I've decided to keep my comments to myself from now and just let you do your thing. It's all good...

Krish no need to get your pants in a twist. I will be more technical in my references in future. You will also see that two of the corals that had previously turned orange are now turning back yellow.:) The thalassia without adding iron is greener than before.:) The sliming has defintely reduced. Perhaps Iam gushing because Iam enjoying the success of the compounded affect. If you came and looked at the tank now you would see the corraline has reached new proportions since going natural which as you have stated on previous threads would not have increased due to brighter light. Perhapss the replacment of old bulbs has also improved it. As Moutaindew Man put it he thinks that it is combination of the things that I have done that have improved the overall appearance of the tank and I willing to except that. :) I don't think the comments were intended to be contradictory and I don't think even if there were some contradictions that they are beyond refute. I also don't think i was ever intending for anyone to DO IT MY WAY. I have admitted my tank is an experiment because I believe that "if you only walk where you see other mens footsteps you make no new discoveries." Also since you were nice enough to shoot the first shot of my tank if you shoot the next you will be able to see EXACTLY what Iam talking about. Rude or mean NEVER sometimes subversive YES, sarcastic YES. If you have an issue ask for clarity if it still isn't clear ask again. Its not like I have the luxury of sitting here after each post and reading back through every element of the previous post, but unsarcastically I will make sure I am as clear as glass for you in the future. Please note for anyone who reads my posts I don't intend anyone to be influenced by the way I do it. There are far to many qualified people and experts on this forum for me to ever want to sway anyone in my direction. Like I have said many times do you what works for you. I have been keeping tanks of some type for most of my natural life and in twenty odd years of hobbyist experience I expect opinions and knowledge to continue to evolve as it has over the last 25 years since I entered the hobby.:D

It's all good. Just do "your" thing... I really just wanted to apologize to everyone here for "freaking" out here a bit earlier. Sorry I can't give an explanation, but let's just say I was on the egde for arguments sake. Don't worry RF about seeing anymore of it from me...:)

It's all good krish, at least it makes for eventfull reading

Ethan their are two different types of Heni's. one is bad and the other is safe. I cant remember the name but it starts with a D, lol. You can tell the difference between the two by where the black strip ends on the lower tail fin
