I'm not sure how you plan to accomplish what you have in mind from the picture you drew us. Not to say it won't work, I just can't figure it out.
Another way to do it would be to section off an area in the sump and have the overflow of the fuge drain into the inlet side of the sump. The fuge would be fed by a tee with ball valve from your return pump.
