probably a dumb question but being gone 4 years and seeing how much has changed in the hobby I am wondering what is the best salt mix for mixed reefs? I am also looking for value...

Wow Matt great to see you been a long time. You had beautiful fish back then. I think we had a discussion about salts and IO still ranked high.

Hey welcome back Matt.

I still think that for the money and the quality, Instant Ocean Reef Crystals is a great salt mix. There are a lot of different brands any more. A lot of people have been saying some really good things about Red Sea Pro. I am considering changing to it too. I think what you want to look for is something that gives you the percentage of elements that you want and the mix is always consistant. And easy to use.

There are no dumb questions, only dumb answers.
Wait wasn't that just a dumb answer????:welcome::welcome:

I really like Kent reef salt. It is widely available (at least down here) and is one of the most cost effective salts around. Plus I like how it tests out :D
