amen to all the cost comments. I had no idea how much time and energy my 300 g was going to take when we started in February.
We did a huge remodel with the tank being the centerpiece. I'm embarrassed to say how much we paid for our acrylic tank. I wasn't plugged into RF and we were gonna pay a guy to take care of the thing.
turned out that the guy was not reliable so I do everything myself. I've learned alot.
The one thing I was very concerned about was what would happen to my fishes (and coral) when we have power outages; they often occur several times in winter here. Because of this we bought a huge in-line natural gas generator that automatically takes over when we loss electricity.
Don't know what your winters and power situation is up north but maybe something to think about.
