My pair of mandarins spawned last night as well as a pair of cardinals and my fireclowns, but they spawn all the time. I won't be looking for those mandarin eggs in this old 6' long tank.
I am glad the mandarins spawned because the young female was so skinny when I got her about a year ago,

That is very cool :)

I have been thinking of pairing my male with a female. Did you get them as a pair or did you introduce them sepratly? I'm just curious how the intorduction should be done.

Congradulations on the Granddaughter too!

I had an old male and introduced a young, skinny female. Just don't get two males.

I guess I should update a little. Every fish in my tank is spawning except for the copperband, two watchmans that are a different species, and the striped shrimp gobies as one is very young. There is also 5 threadfin cardinals but one doesn't have a mate and is not spawning.

Very nice Paul, thanks for the update and the tank is looking great. I'm still looking for a female Target Mandarin to get a pair ??? but now have 17 fish in my 125g including four Tangs, so nearing its capacity I'm sure...lol A pair of Banggai Cardinals that spawn regularly and recently my pair of Tailspot Blennies have started laying. How did you survive that Hellacious Winter you'll just had ???

Cheers, Todd

We lost power for 4 days but I have a generator so we were fine, thanks for asking.

Congrats on the new granddaughter, she's a cutie. None of you fish seem to be picky eaters. Beautiful tank, Paul.

Thanks, she just learned how to stand, but she can't walk yet. But she is a cutie.

They grow up fast. I am 62 and I have 3 grandsons, it just doesn't seem that long ago when they were that size. Now two of them are juniors in high school.

lol that beer bottle is looking good now.. i remember when you added it

Actually that can rotted to much and I removed it, I will look for another one this year in a tidepool or while diving.

To update a little, the tank will be 44 years old in March and is looking better than ever.

I don't think I ever had a tank set up for longer then 10 years! Great job!!

10 years is pretty long, most people don't go for 2 years. This fireclown is about 24 and still spawning as his girlfriend is a teenager at about 16 or so

Only a few months, I have a pair of bluestripes that are about a year or two old. They are in this video
