Get a bunch of empty 2-liter bottles and fill them up with tap water. Don't fill them all the way, leave room for the water to expand when it freezes. Freeze them and then just float them in your tank or sump and rorate out as necessary

I have been doing this the last few years and it has helped out.

The other way is to take a 5 gal bucket coil some tubbing in the bucket then fill with ice. Hook up one end of the tube to a power head and allow the other end to return water back to your tank/sump.

Cheap home made cooler!

Gimpster, Welcome to Reef Frontiers!!

Great ideas on ways to cool a tank without purchasing a chiller! Love the 5 gallon bucket idea - hadn't heard that one before!
