The big day

Have had this tank for nearly a year now and progress has been slow while I removed walls and saved up for some expensive equipment. But now the big day has arrived and i've finally got it lifted into place. At 700 pounds in weight empty it was a day i'm glad is over lol. Hoping to be about 350 gallons when it's up and running including the sump. Just got to plumb it and rewire half the house

What are the dimensions of the tank? How are you going to reach the bottom??
You know you are going overboard when you need to hook 4 come-a-longs to the ceiling to lift a home for your pets.
Tagging along, I see this build as an interesting one .

Thanks for the comments, the tank is 60 X 27 X 40 high. Made out of 3/4 inch starphire glass. Reaching the bottom will be the fun part lol, Have got some long pincers with big and small grabbers on, If that fails I will be going for a swim. Hardest part will be trying to set up the live rock and move it around to where i want it, once that job is done i hope it will be a little easier. I will have 300 gal of salt water made up in storage tanks, Thought about part filling the tank and building the rock up and the water level as I go. What ever way I decide to go I have a feeling i'm going to get wet

I have a plan to be fish only for the first few months untill the tank cycles and stabilizes. I used to keep lionfish and wanted to go down that road again, they are beautiful fish IMO. The wife wants tangs, clown fish, shrimp, angels ect. She will win as I won the battle for the tank in the first place. ( got to let them think they have won something) lmao It will be a month or so before it sees water. The protine skimmer is ordered and the lights are on their way. The thing that is going to slow me down is I work to much and I need to rewire the house for the extra circuits the tank will need.

That is the best way to play it. There are so many different things you can add to a tank. But as you stated you need the tank to put them in. GOOD PLAY.

There are two Clown fish. They were the first ones in. They have plenty of friends already. 400 Gal in the system with 120 Gal in reserve. Sump tank is in the basement. Gives me plenty of room to expand Lighting is 4 fluorescant T5 tubes all different from blue to 14,000k. trying to cover the light specrum. 2 x 400w MH and a led blue strip. All controlled by an Apex controller.

Very nice, you don't see too many deep tanks. So many options for nice coral placement (if you go with a reef that is LOL)
