well as a lot of you know this cube was originally Paul Hamby's (Fragman's) tank.
I took the snow day off today and built a new canopy and gave the stand a face lift. now I need to stain it then get the pluming done and it will be ready to roll again!!!
P.S. I spent 8 hrs today just building the canopy and re-finishing the stand...

Here are some pictures before and after. It is kinda hard to see in the pictures but the canopy was totally shot it was falling apart at every seam!
and the stand was all rotten at the bottom...

any ways I promised I would bring it back and here is a good start!!!

the first picture is of the tank in its prime back in the day... the second is the condition I got it in..

Cool, Paul Hamby I'm sure will be happy to see his old tank up and running.

Don

I'm sure he will, but not about being called Pam unless that is his wife's name!

Previously posted by Matt125 well as a lot of you know this cube was originally Pam Hamby's (Fragman's) tank.

They new stand and canopy looks really clean Matt...You do some really clean woodwork:)

Hey, I like that style of canopy.
It's exactly like the ones I have made.
Gives you 100% access to the tank.:)

Thanks for catching that TYPO Krish!!!

it is Paul Hamby....

Matt

LOL! Almost said something in my first post because it seemed odd that a person called "fragman" was named Pam, but it wasn't my business:p

Good luck with the remainder of the setup!:)

That is a awesome cube.
I saw it at Pauls house a couple years ago.
What's the plan for live stock?

I think I am going to convert most of my rock and live stock out of my 125 and then piece the 125 back together and sell it..

here is a pic of my 125 for those of you who havent seen it..
and yes it will be for sale with live rock lighting and some livestock too I am sure..

I am almost finished with the stain on the stand and canopy, wow this part is way harder then building the stuff!
Tomorrow I will be doing the plumbing for the over the top closed loop it will be ran by a 3000 gph dolphin pump with 6-8 3/4'' loc-line outlets.. all from the top on all 4 sides of the cube.
I will post pictures as I finish all the little tasks I have coming up...

Matt

here is the closed loop. It was hard to find time to build as I have been busy at work. Excuse the messy plumbing.. This should help a ton with the dead spots in this 30'' deep cube. I have a 3000 GPH dolphin pump running the closed loop with 8- 3/4'' outlets (two on all 4 sides)..
Next I will do the plumbing on the return and the skimmer then install the lights in the hood and I will be ready to bring it inside and set it up...

here are some pictures...

Matt

Good job Matt! The plan is coming together. The locline should add some good direction.
Scott:)
