Matt,
If that is a ampmaster 3000?
I would swap out the pumps drain plug with a JG valve so you can drain the pipe for service. Also put a drip pan just under the pump head. If your up for a change I'd use true union ball valves, you will be thankfull 6 months down the road.

I finally have the cube in the house!
it is filling up right now!!
lets pray for no leaks!! I took a couple pictures of the cube set up with the tank half full and the closed loop running, I think this will be a very nice system!!!

By the way I will start to transfer my livestock over this week and then my 125gallon will be ready to sell so if anyone has any interested in a 125 gallon full reef with rock and corals let me know.. (there is a picture of this tank earlier in this thread)

Martin it isnt professional but it is ok for me. it is the first time I have really gotten into any wood working so I can only improve from here..

Kendog,
I'm hardly what you would consider a cabinet maker, I just have a good knowledge of these things from my line of work (siding and windows)
I do a lot of finish work on the job so it is nice when these projects come around..

I finnaly took the time and made the swap so my cube is now stocked!
it was very difficult aquascaping the rocks in this 30'' deep! especialy since one of my rocks is 36'' across and over 100 lbs. not to mention the fact it is bare bottom.
anyways I will be playing around with my coral placement over the next few weeks and hopefully this tank will mature fast and my corals will grow better then my old system..

Here are a few pictures of the cube 48 hrs after the transfer....

Indeed no power heads, I put some serious effort into a over the top closed loop with an ampmaster 3000 pump, I show this closed loop earlier in this thread check it out..

Thanks for the compliment Krish!!

here is a picture of the under side of the tank in the stand, this is one cramped up and very difficult space to fit 2 large external pumps and the sump with all the plumbing and the large skimmer. I disposed of the EV180 it was a POS and went with a IAP Becket skimmer (BigT Version) it took a lot of planning and adjustments to get this to all fit!!
