Some new tank algae going, but corals are doing well.

Always nice to see a build shared by someone who knows what the hell they are doing.
Nice job Stacey.
I have always said you dont know how you want to run your reef tank, until you have already ran one.

I can't preview images in posts anymore. Going to just hope this works.

I'm running a pair of RW20's at their lowest setting.
Thought long and hard about the gyre, but decided against first gen. If it had been the final version I saw at MACNA rather than a prototype, it might have sold me. And when i was buying eco tech was somewhere between 'classic' and 'quiet drive'
The jaebo's have done well for me before, and I am running them in the 75 (do wp25's), so I figured I'd give them a go until and see where it took me.

Using the BRS clear mesh. I don't have any real concern about light loss. The clear mesh doesn't seem to block much of anything. These OBD lights would win anyway. My lights are never at more than 50%, so even if I there was a concern, it wouldn't really matter.
Love the OBD lights by the way. The color they bring out in the corals is pretty amazing.

We are upgrading our 75s at the same time! Haha. I am going up to only a 125 though. Just finished cycling it. Moved a few fish and zoas over to test the waters. 75 coming down hopefully by early next month.

If only I were smart enough to take my 75 down. LOL
I need to get some pictures this weekend. Things are doing well, just had the pod explosion, decent growth. Still learning the lights too.
Having trouble keeping alk up. Its small tank to large tank related though I think. When you work it out, I have close to 300 gallons total system, its hard to wrap my head around how much I need to dose. Still feels like I'm going to nuke it. I've always upped dosing slowly, rather suffer low than high, but now I need to adjust my idea of slowly. :)

Are you using a dosing pump or just doing by hand? Haha yea 300 gallons is a lot to handle... are the systems connected or running separately?

180 tank (overflows and a DSB)
75 sump (nearly full, no baffles, just enough room in it to hold what drains before siphon break)
40 fuge (full but for overflow)
20 frag (full but for overflow)
----
315

I'm probably closer to 275 on that I guess.

I'm using BRS dosers. Thats part of why I'm so concerned... upping the timing on the doser, since that is automatic, its more worry-some I guess than dripping or dosing manually.

All three are running separately currently. I am thinking I want to plumb the nem tank in with the 180 (wouldn't be hard), but I have softies and leathers in the 75 now that I don't want warring with the SPS.

Yea I had to make a hard decision and get rid of some big colonies when I combined my smaller tanks together. It's tough to sell corals you have grown into large colonies! But I ended up deciding on what corals I wanted to focus and and sold/gave away all the others. Have you considered getting the Jebao doser?

Wish I would have gotten rid of some, instead I tried to hold on, and lost most of my sps when trying to swap things.
If I didn't already have the ones I did, I wouldn't shy away from one. Since I have an ACIII running everything, there isn't a bonus at all to me to the stuff that already has the timers built in... And I don't like the idea of running that as an ATO either.. I mean, with the heat we've had this summer already, I'd have had to test and adjust way too many times.
Its likely I will just stick with these unless I get lucky enough to get forced into a calcium reactor someday.

Oh yea, I don't trust myself making my own ATO. Haha. I left mine up to the experts. The JBJ and the Tunze have been working flawlessly for me. But that does remind me I need to check my salinity. That heat was no joke.

As for the doser. I bought one thinking it would be easier, but I haven't even set it up! Lol. I still dose manually.. old habits.
