thinking about getting a california stingray

i was looking to get a california stingray California Stingray, Round Stingray - Urobatis halleri

it said to keep the temps between 54-72. i keep my tank at 76-77 deg would it be safe to run my tank at 75 deg kind of a median between the two?

tough call..similar question as the catalina gobies...I think u would be better at 74 degrees.

on a separate note, have u bought fish b4 from bluezoo? if so, what was your experience and do they have good quality fish??

Truthfully, I think 75 degrees would be too warm for it, and would lead to bacterial infections. These are cold water species, not even sub tropical species. I think, in order to keep one healthy, you'd need a chiller. Even if kept at 75, during the summer months, you'd have difficulty keeping your tank cold enough. Then you've also gotta consider your other tank species. 75 would be keeping them colder than they're adjusted for, causing stress and health related issues, to them.

The other issue, that I'd be worried about, is the current tank you have, offering a ray enough room. They need HUGE amounts of substrate area. Large areas of soft sand, devoid of any rock. They also need a deep enough sand bed to bury themselves in.

this was a plan for my new tank the 5'x3'x2' the only reason for this one was because they are cheaper then all the rest and they are one of the smallest. maybe a blue spot?

Bluespotted rays are incredibly difficult to keep long term. I would suggest looking at another species of ray for your system.
