Just wanna know what you guys think,

Im thinking about starting over, from new.

I was gonna try to get my self a 55 with aga stand and start it from scrach.

This green bush is just runing s............................

Another thing, do you think that the green bush (dieing off and being pulled) + (no light) would make the phosphates that were locked in them come out in to the tank.

cause my phosphates are going up and up, and i havent fed + i did waterchanges.

the reson i might want to start over is cause i did a little research on this Biops green bush thing, and its come times called "KILLER Algea" I think im gonna have a hard time get rid of it,sort of Nukeing the tank (aka start over) (or reset button) i know you guys had the name of the bush but i didnt take note of it.

Im gonna give it a few more days of waterchanges and starveation. and if i dont see the bush start to go away (main) i think i might start from new.

the sump lights are 24 7 and its seeded it self down there, but the rate of growth is nothing compaired to what it was growing in the main tank (i think cause of light)

anyone got any suggestions, besides i just suck

Jon...I am one to admit that I have started over from scratch! I left my rocks out in the sun for 6 months to dry out and got some new rock to seed it when I set the tank back up. Sometimes it is much easier to start over (especially if the tank isn't that old at all anyways and you don't have much to lose) than to try and fight something you can't really find the source of the problem. I bet if you did start over, you'd have a bit more success seeing you know a lot more now, than when you set up your tank for the first time. It would be totally up to you if you want to start all over. If it were me, I know I would have taken it down and started from scratch, but that's just me. I have issues:p Best of luck:)

the rodi water setup is from thefilterguys.biz.

what should i do with my inhabs? sell them back to the store? could i setup a smaill 10gal with water only and put my skimmer and stuff on that till i straitin the main tank out? OR just all over ageain

i think im just gonna let it go, and see what happens

Im not gonna feed for a while

Ill give a little 2 the fishs every once and a while.

maybe i was feeding to much, im not sure what the cause was, or is

The phosphates are lower now, but still 2 high........ it had bin weeks b4 i had tested phosphates, so i cant determine when they went up.

I will do a few small water changes today and tomarrow
and let it go for a week or 2

Good thinking, I'd just let it ride for now.

As for the bush growing in the tank. Have you taken the rock(s) out of the tank and brushed the algae off. I've done this before to remove some. Take the rock out, place in tub of water, scrub the area with a brush of some sort (Toothbrush if you're gaby). Rinse the rock of real good with water and then place back in tank. Then dispose of the water in te tub.

I've had pretty good luck with this. The key I think is to remove the rock, then scrub. Doing this in the tank just allows the spores to start growing someplace else.

ive done that once, but it did come back. (now im way ferther down the line then that)

the sump is starting to grow this bush now, its a 64th the size of whats in the main tank.

I don't know how big the rock is but if you had tried everything else a nice bath in boiling fresh water should do the trick. Just a thought.

I had a problem with that stuff and solved it accidentally. I recently moved and had to house my rocks and livestock in a 40 gallon breeder in the basement of my girlfriends house for six months. My halides went out and she didn't bother to tell me so the tank was under actinics only for a couple months. Besides killing all my SPS, it also killed my bryopsis that had gone nuts in the tank.

So you might try a technique called rock cooking. If you don't know what that is, its basically keeping your rocks in a rubbermade tote in the dark for a month or two. There's more to it, circulation and frequent complete water changes. It kills all the algae on the rock but keeps the beneficial bacteria intact.

i got fish and a bunch of inhabs......... what turn the lights off for a month? keep the the lights on the sump on.

or just run antics?

With now light senstive inhabs I wouldn't worry about it. I'd jsut leave the lights off.

Granted it makes it a little hard to watch the fish etc., but just normal room light should be enough for them. IMO.

ya iv had the lights off for 2 days now

ill do some water changes every couple of days and leave the lights off

i could move some of my coral to the sump witch has lights on, and leave the main tank off for a while+cut back feed more+ water changes

Im runing some tests and it looks like i have no2 a little no3 a little and phosphate..... weird i dont know how that happen......

but anyway. i think i just gonna chill and let it do its thing and not worrrie about it, and if things are floating in the next couple of mornings then i know i suck
