This box was inspired by a figured piece of oak I found somewhere. It is intended to be a tool box. It sat in my shop for 8 mos. collecting dust. I decided it needed a home, other than tanking up space in my shop. I gave it to our oldest daughter for X-Mass. I am sure a tool will never be placed inside.

The inside has small boxes that stack and slide. Made from figured maple, and cherry

The handles are cut into the inside of the box so they are flush with the sides

Mush less time invested in this box. I redid the finish 4 times before I got it to my liking.

Yea I should have. Back in 1971 I went to a summer camp for Forestry. I knew then that in someway wood would be a major part of my life. It wasnt until 1977 that I gave woodworking a shot in shop class, I still have that in table today. The rest is history. LOL

Thanks Lori, I think you may be my #1 fan here for my woodworking.

Ha, yeah....I dont know, its just something about the grain and the different cuts and finishes, wood is just beautiful. And you do a fabulous job of creating with it! I will have to get one of those puzzle boxes from you yet.

When I see work like this, I assume someday it will be in antiques roadshow or something similar and be worth a fortune. Beautiful work again.

I can only hope. I have always went the extra mile on 7/8 of my projects to be sure they do not end up in someones yard sale.
