Lol. But it's you Dave.

LOL I dont know if that is bad or good??

I had made a pellet reactor some time ago, it has been collecting dust.
Since I added some fish to the Frag Cage I started to worry about my water quality.
NO BRAINER hook up the Pellet Reactor.
Well it was not as simple as it may seem. Water in, water out. Ha ha.
The first "EASY hook up produced a leak"
The second semi easy hookup produced a leak!! Dam
The third.. still leaking. Double dam.

Take it all apart and head to the shop. The leak was coming from the weld between the 4'' tube and the top flange. That sucks!! I pulled out the dremmel and cut a groove between the two and added a special concoction ( part #4 and part #16 weldon ) to fill the groove. I crossed my fingers.
I thought it would be best to put the reactor in the sump chamber of the tank. Just encase it still leaked.
I started off with a 300ghp pump. Not going to work. I ramped it up to a Danner 5 500gph.
I cant take credit to the next trick. Kevin showed me a way to feed the skimmer, with the pellet overflow, and still allow the skimmer to suck water from the sump.
A simple -T- fitting is all that was needed.

Water into the skimmer

Had to mod the semi-hood for the reactor.

I will keep an eye on this for the next few weeks and post an update later.

LOL. And all this time I thought it was the cancer sticks!!!
As we all know in the end the customer is always right!!

Any current picture of the tank? Looks really cool! Was there a reason you used 1" or was it only because you had it laying around?

You are right about the 1'' stock just laying around. It was a bonus being so thick, I could build rimless.
I just came back from "Nana Place" so I re worked the Frag Tank. After it settles I will post some crappy pics,
A huge "THANKS to Nana " for telling me ( Oh you need this and Oh you need one of these)
I came home very , very, well compensated for the Portable Frag Tank.
As some of you know her tanks are above and beyond!!
