So tonight I was making water this afternoon and I decide to change some water. I forget to turn off a pump or two so I start siphoning and I am looking and thinking something is going wrong here. well I sucked out 3-4 gallons of water and it was being replaced with kalk water. 75 gallon tank with 20 gallon sump. I am concerned about how bad this is going to be. I am doing about a 30% water change and hopefully nothing will bleach.

Yup, that is the reason to go with a dosing pump as the way to dose kalk. I decided that I am not going to even mess with kalk at all recently, just a pita. I would do your WC and cross your fingers. How hi has your ph spiked?

hope the wc's do the job, you may need to do a few.
What do you do to keep your ca up Tom?

Brad - how much did your parameters shift? Any problems with salinity in addition to pH?

Brad........that sucks the big one :D

Take any water params's, Ca++, Alk and / Nikki ? Any snow storms show-up ? Any white precip on the bottom ?

Been there, done that. Sorry man. A dosing pump is a must for safe Kalk dosing.

If you didn't get the snowstorm and your PH didn't spike too high you should be OK. Any losses? Fish are usually the first to suffer on the PH spikes (IME), then a delayed reaction from the corals. Stay on the water changes.

Water was changed for a while last night. the coral looked good but I haven't seen it with the lights on yet. Sad enough I couldn't find an ph tests last night and I really didn't want to test alk or ca because I figured It wouldn't really matter. I need to get a ph meter and a dosing pump.

You'll be fine. I had a similar problem a few months ago and i did the suggested water changes and everything turned out fine.

You should be okay brad.
