Hey Kevin and Gang Got a Very bad problem never seem this one before!
I have a bigger table top coral that had slimmed up from me cleaning it with a turkey baster well he Hammered My Blue tort to the point the blue has turned a off white I immediately gave it a good cleaning by stopping my sea swirl on it for a 2 Min's and am sure its fairly clean now Anything else I can do to help this guy? New carbon is in the tank just did a water change this weekend.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I did move the table as well...

Holly smokes!. Jeff, I am thinking Iodine dip for bacterial infection. But I would much rather you hear that from Kevin or Anthony than take my advice.
I can break off a piece of the tort you gave me recently if you want. Its doing good.

Well some good news color is not quite back but the poylops are out tonight I would like to hope this is a good thing? I will up date in the morning.

What action did you take

1st I swore! 2nd I prayed 3rd directed flow 4th added charcoal 5th waited & watched
It has donut rings around each polyop and these rings are white the only part unafected was the tip top It hasen't changed..

writing it down in case it happens to me....yeah, and then?:D

Hi Jeff,
Your coral should recover fully in a day or so. Good water flow on it right after the event is the right thing to do.

Kevin

a Iodine dip would have stressed this guy more in your oppinion?
Yes, I believe so. If the coral tissue is already being burnt by the slime from the other coral there is no reason to suspect bacteria is the problem. In nature the wave surge would have cleaned the coral very quickly. IMO it's best to try and mimic what nature does (when possible) to protect itself.

Regards,
Kevin

Thanks Kevin

I got up at 4 am this morning before my Leoprad wrasses get up I did not want to stress them, And I hooked up a dedicated sea-swirl to keep this guy clean and to give him some more simulated wave action It is getting beter I hope for a full recovery this 75 tank is gettting too full my have to do some trading been looking for some clams ;)
