Tri color turned brown?

look like they all stop turning brown,,maybe too early to tell yet,but the one is total brown all the way to the tip ,,start to have the color back again.so wish me luck .

I have a nice piece of tri-color that did the same thing and finally after a year the tips are starting to show their original colors again. Mine turned brown and the grew like crazy but no color until recently. I just let mine grow in he same place and it seems to be coloring up finally.
Hey Dang, have you had any major temp swings lately? I have been thinking that unstable temperature has been one of my problems as far as coloration lately. I just bought a digital pc fan controller with 4 temp sensors that can control 4 fans based on temp, and I am hoping that this will be a cheep solution for a temp controller.

no major temp swing at all,my tank temp stay 78.6-79.7all the time.
still have question about water chemistry change by?..that also kill the rock anemone.,,they are still melting away,,and other coral still doing fine.

I have no idea what may be killing your majono, but that is great! lol. So the other question that I have is do you have those little red acro bugs? I noticed that on all my acro's that I have that are not doing real well, they have a lot of acro bugs on them. Then on others that are really healthy and looking good there are no bugs.

Would the age of the lighting be the problem? I know it was asked but isn't it ideal to replace bulbs every 6-9 months? Could it be temp changes through out the day/night cycle if so check your temp with the lights on and off.
When introducing RP to an aged tank to quickly your Alk will take a hit and drop a bit. The alk drop has played a role in the pigments coming through. Also remember a tri color acro is basically a sps that has thre main color pigments showing, most corals end up going with one dominate color that takes over. If a sps type coral turns burn, 99% of the time that is an indicator that the zoox population (zoox is brown) in the coral has now become so dence it is covering over the areas of pigment in the corals tissue. The alk is important for the sps as it allows the coral to get rid of calcium from with in its cells and grow, In pulling out the calcium it is also pulling out the phosphate that is fertilizing the zoox. So a drop in alk will hinder that process and allow the coral to retain most of the P and thus multiply, thus turn brown.
From the sounds of the situation Dang it sounds like you have a P nutrient problem (I imagine thats why you were using rp in the first place), this is going to fertilze the algae (zoox) in your corals and cause them to turn brown eventually, the tri color was the first as it does not really have a dominate pigment, but has three.
Try to fix your P problem, that is going to be the source.

when i start to use RP (was phosgard po4=.oo1-.003,),through the fluidizer ,, i let it settle down in the chamber for 2 days until water is cleared(not brown),,very slowly run through for 1 week ,,and increase the flow only 1/2 valve open,,,leaked on co2,,lowest alk was 2.7-3.0 was only 2-3 weeks(was 3.2-3.6 all the time)problem fixed ,alk back up and running 3.2-3.4 ca 420 ph 8.15-8.32 and temp swing .8 degree now po4=0
,,my blue and my purple is looking better than before..grow rate in crease to all other,,majano ann is dying melting away????help me out on this one.
