RF,

We have been working with a new client for a few months now, and have been building a first class system for them. The great thing is he knows exactly what he wants, "the best" which makes it a piece of cake for me.
We started with the tank, a 72x30x30 all 3/4" Polycast, with a continuous OFB on one end. No pic's of the tank in the shop, as I geeked out and left my memory card at home. I promise we built it!
Next came the Steel stand. All 2" square tubing, but with a twist. The client has a half wall he wanted the stand to reach over. No problem! We just cantilevered one long side. We ended up using 30 more feet of 2" tubing which weighs a bunch! Then we took it to our Powder Coater, and had them make it Purdy with some satin black. Now all you arm chair structural engineers out there that are yelling "where's the gussets?", don't get your panties in a bunch, this stand will handle 8 times the weight of this tank under any extreme circumstances. My uncle taught me how to weld, as he was a race car chassis/roll cage fabricator.
Next we applied a good amount of wood. The panels will be held onto the stand by rare earth magnets. Let us know what you think!

"The panels will be held onto the stand by rare earth magnets."

Very very nice!!!!
Didn't know that Earth magnets were rare, thought the ones from other planets were rarer.

Mike, magnets aren't that rare, but rare earth magnets are from the molten core of the earth....I heard. Maybe not. Sounded good.

:) was making a pun. Once a chemist, always a chemist ;) Rare earths are a group of elements found naturally but in very small percentages relative to other common elements like iron, oxygen, silicon. Most have cool properties and are mined in China more than other places. One is neodymium, which makes really good magnets. There are two types: neodymium magnets and samarium-cobalt magnets. These cool powerful magnets sadly are extremely brittle and also vulnerable to corrosion (why a scratch makes near instant rust-ball) , so they are usually plated or coated.

Here is the list, you will recognize a few and others not so much.

Lanthanum series
•Cerium
•Praseodymium
•Neodymium
•Promethium
•Samarium
•Europium
•Gadolinium
•Terbium
•Dysprosium
•Holmium
•Erbium
•Thulium
•Ytterbium
•Lutetium

Actinium Series
•Thorium
•Protactinium
•Uranium
•Neptunium
•Plutonium
•Americium
•Curium
•Berkelium
•Californium
•Einsteinium
•Fermium
•Mendelevium
•Nobelium
•Lawrencium

I know your were just kidding, I was just using my own stupid humor. I didn't know you were a chemist but I knew you are a smart man. You also have a magnetic personality ( just some more of my slap stick humor). I certainly didn't mean to insult you in anyway, my apologize, if I offended.

Thank Jason for all your hard work!! Like he said the tank is real it's already at my house begging for water. Can't wait to pick up the stand and put it in place! Don't worry a build thread will be started soon!! I did my research before contacting Jason and since then I've been even more impressed build quality is over the top!!!
