Kind of sad the Tacoma and Timberline libraries don't have the Wilkerson clownfish book.
I think whoever wants to raise clowns should go buy it immediately as it's really detailed and up to date. Also search posts for clownfish. It's great that we can ask Ilham but he is a student and works plus raising all these fish, so getting ahold of him might not always be easy. I know myself that I can ask 20 questions and recall 15 answers so having a book to re-read beats trying to question someone. Often I don't know what questions to even ask, so having a detailed book like Wilkerson's to guide you through the process is really really important. There is a harder to find one on commercial propagation by Hoff which I also like a lot but you won't find that one easily.

If I was free all the time, I'd love to open up a store, but I don't see that anytime in the future. I have other passions, but I'd like to continue breeding marine fishes from a hobbyist point of view and just for the sharing of knowledge and experiences.best,

they are all but memory now- I was not sure if Elmo would call me, (he never did) and the eggs developed their silvery thing or whatever and they hatched i believed sunday night and by monday they were gone. Since he already told me to let go of the 1st batch, i figured this is what the plan was. In as far as them laying eggs again, i will try to read more about what to do next time. thanks for the inquiry.

That's too bad, I'm sure it was really hard to see that happen! I was looking forward to my first pair of true percs too! I'm sure Elmo will come through for you, he's no slacker! He does have finals going on, two jobs and many other responsibilities. I'm sure he knew best about letting the first batch go, but as a ''parent'', that's pretty hard to accept. The next one will come around soon enough, maybe if you have a tile or clay pot in there for them to lay on it might be a little easier to retrieve the eggs when the time is right. I'm not going to give up on my first pair!

I'm sure they'll have more pretty soon, now you just gotta get ready to become a granpa again, get all the stuff you need and like Susie said put a tile in there and i'm sure they'll be getting into it pretty soon .

Correct me tho if i am wrong, can I catch the pair and maybe set up a seperate 20 gal tank for them? this will be pretty easy task when they lay again.
any suggestions are welcome.

yes you can Robert .
you can just put them in there with their anemone if they have one and a tile or a pot and i'm sure they'll be happy

I think the main problem with catching them would be the stress on the pair. They are obviously happy where they are and comfortable enough to spawn. I wouldn't mess with them too much. I've heard that sometimes when a pair is uprooted they never spawn again. This is probably a severe reaction, but if you want them to spawn again soon I would leave them alone and just give them a few more ''removable'' things to hopefully lay their eggs on.

well i'm not an clownfish expert and if Susie says that it would stress them, then i guess don't move them.
