I'm taking on a trade deal for quite a bit of rock and livestock, and one of the items in the tank is a big (big!) tube anemone.

I'd never seen anything like that before, but it's gorgeous. He openly admitted that once it decided to take a roll through the tank and killed off a bunch of his corals (this puppy has LONG purple tentacles).

Is this guy a bad idea? Any one else keeping them? It's by far the prettiest anemone I've seen...

Thanks!

Tube Anemones are beautiful. Unfortunately, I don't know a lot about them. Here's a great article about them though. It dispells a few myths as well. Like the myth that they're "fish eaters." As far as I know, they're also NOT photosynthetic, so will need to be fed plankton. Actually, two great links

Thanks for the reply, I actually stumbled on the WWM article you linked at lunch...and I think this guy is a no-go. It really is stunning, but I'm just not ready to let it kill all the rest of my coral.

ive collected cyrianthus, tube anenomes at 18m they are very pretty
they do like to live in mud but if u get it just lay it down and cover the tube with sand
