Tuxedo Urchin Spawn

A cloudy tank drew my attention and revealed my Tuxedo Urchin in the middle of spawning. Oh, sorry for the vertical framing. I have had this urchin for well over a year, but this is the first time I have ever caught it in the middle of spawning. Given the proper care and situation, is reproduction possible in an aquarium?

My long spine urchin does this once a month or so, immediately following a water change.
However, mine releases a cloud of what I had assumed was sperm. However, watching how yours released strings of ... whatever....I'm not so sure that mine isn't a female releasing a cloud of eggs.

I know that urchins are being captive bread by ORA, but I don't believe that they (or anyone else) is commercially breeding either tuxedo or long spined urchins.
