I would do as you said and just keep her in your pod tank for now. Let her get healthy and less stressed. Also once the pod population starts dying down then try and feed her brine. If you can mix it up she should adapt. Good luck :)

I can't see the first fin clearly, but judging by the shape of the head it looks like a female. Keep a close eye on her underside to monitor if she is getting enough to eat.

i will, she is still pretty caved in looking, but judging by her attitude and energy level she is getting better. i am sure it will take a while to build her up

Hi how are your Mandarin? Just thought you might like to know where you can get some copepods:

oh, Hi
well, my mandarins have both gone to fishy heaven. they were just too far gone by the time i got them. my tank now is full of pods but i am just not getting another one at this time. my friend has one that is doing awesome. so i just go enjoy hers now and then. i get too attached to my fish, so i just don't want to get something that has such a high level of death rate. if i ever get a much bigger tank, i will try again
thanks for the info tho!!

Dear Gobie
I am so very sorry that happened. If you are ever at a place that sells ceramic floor tile get a blue scrubber or blue scrub pad. The kind that tile setters use to clean grout joints on a new tile floor. Not a sponge but a scrubber. It looks like an aquarium scrubber only much more coarse and put it down behind the live rock. I call these things a "53 cent Amphipod refugium".

very very good idea!!! it was really sad to see him go. there were pods in there, but not enough after he was already soooo thin. live and learn. my tank now has the blue tang, the clown, a yellow clown goby, a decorated goby, a high fin goby (and 2 more little gobys on the way, can you tell i like gobys?) a bi color blenny, a long fin fairy wrasse and a coral angel. so i think my population is good. i do water changes every week religiously, and my parameters are great. i know i am a little over crowded, but all seem happy!
