stony: i mean the low range of acceptable =) since its like 8-12ish is good i'd rather like to be at 10-11 heh and i am guessing my CA is at like 300

ok so i took all frags off the stupid marble plugs and onto real rocks and now i have a frag for ben in a month since when i chipped off the frag, there was a bit of encrustation still left on the plug and same with the sunset but that piece is soooo small its like 2 periods (..) so in coupel o months, the sunset will grow out and it'll be gabby's

I keep my alk right on 9.3dKh and calcium is rock steady at 450ppm.

I run zeo so 7 dKH and 410ppm Ca... those are dangerous levels for aquarists running zeo..

and I'm using the BluCoral feeding so I need to run them a bit higher... It all evens out though.

well today i cut all acrylic for reactor. now comes the hard part of gluing since my cuts arent perfectly straight.

so i finally built my kalk reactor. but 1 setback....i cracked one top piece so i need to get anotherone. =/ but it does hold water and does not leak!!! on another note. i think it is a little too big for my tnak...its like 17" tall by 5" by 5" it could prolly handle a 200+g but hey, the more the marrier.

Bolun, yes, I would aim for calcium around 420ppm and alk in the 8-9Dkh range. Do test for magnesium too and that should be 1350-ish. You get those numbers and things will be growing outta your tank.

so damn it! i got saliferts today!!!!

but CA was flippin 480 and Alk was a low 6.8

good thing my kalk reactor is done so i can keep a good CA and alk ballance.

Bolun, I wouldn't try to raise the alk with the kalk reactor though. Slowly raise it with some sort of boosting alk product and when you get it balanced then use the kalk to maintain it. I'd just stop using anything for calcium and let that fall naturally.

yea im going to let the CA naturally fall and alk should go up as CA falls. when it hits perfect, i'll start the kalk reactor...

but eitherway, i havent been dosing.....just 15% WC a week ...

thats a good deal then. I wasn't even having to do anything but WC's til I started using the BluCoral and now WC's plus dripping kalk and now supplementing for calcium is barely keeping it at 420ppm. I refuse to use a reactor though.

I'm supplementing a zeo system with pappone 3 times/week. We'll see how that works...
