Hi all,
I recently replaced my lights with 3w cree xpg LEDs and am wondering how much UV they emit, is there a way to tell? I know my Mh's would just about give you a tan if you were under them for long but the LEDs don't seem to have the same effect.

Thanks
E

If I understand correctly the LEDs emit a very narrow spectrum of light and as such they don't bleed into the UV range.

Here is a chart of the led you are refering to, so you can see UV will not be an issue. The thing you will have to watch for is how much more or less usable light your adding, so dont go full blast, kind of ease them into the new lighting.

400-410 Nanometers VIOLET - this band stimulates the overall growth of the plant. It promotes longer stems, and multiplies branches and buds. Improves the amount of protein and vitamins.
