Ok thanks, I think I had the algae problems before I put the pellets in. I think I'm gonna soak the next 250ml and get the dose up to 100%. What do you think about adding positive bacteria?

i followed the directions and did half the dose for the first week and the full 1000ml after 7 days seems to be working fine for me. Even had to have my skimmer off for 2 weeks with the pellets running and no problems.

they say to use your skimmer for oxygenation . I DONT NOT SUGGEST you turn off your skimmer. Just saying i had no choice cause i had a small issue i had to take care of and my skimmer had to be left off and i had no ill effects without it running.

Thanks for you help guys. I tried to call vertex but had no luck. What's the science behind these things? Are they growing the bacteria in the reactor, to change N/P. Or is it breeding bacteria to be expelled into the tank? As you can tell I know just enough to get my self in trouble.

Started a week ago had a cloud in my tank for 3 days and now things are looking ok everybodys happy few tips of acro burned I think of low alk on my part.... I'll chime in in a few days and repost progress.

Well I've been running them for 7 days now, and haven't had any blooms of any sort so far. My N's are zero, P's are zero, and the water seems to be in check. I've seen a reduction in the algae that grows on the glass and sand. I hope this keeps up and is the result of the pellets. If it is this has been the best investment for my tank so far. I'll keep you posted.

Well I've been running the pellets for a month and still have great results, everything tests 0.

sweet...
i just started the SWC extreme N&P bio media in a 2 little fishes reactor with a maxijet 1200...my little 20g tank only needs like 125 ml of the pellets,
of which, i started with half, and this weekend i will add the other half.

i have been battling cyano for a couple weeks now and am hoping this will starve it out after a few weeks/month.

i left the sponge in the bottom of my reactor and took out the one on the top,
im using such a small amount of pellets that it still tumbles quite violently with only a mj-1200, and yet none can escape the top of the reactor.
so i think im golden...

so far, after 5 days, the cyano comes back slower after i physically remove it, so a very good sign that the bacteria are already competing with the cyano for nutrient.
