Hi!
I am looking for a pro who can buff off scratches on my 180gallon tank. It needs to be done with water in it as i can't afford to drain it or move things around. There are about 10 spots that need to be buffed.

This needs to be done by someone who has done it before. I can't afford any mistakes :( Let me know if any of you are interested. Thank you and have a good weekend everyone!

You could try Jason at CFI. If he can't do it, he might be able to point you to someone who can.

Its not hard anyone can do it. Its going to be time consuming and expensive with water in it. Your better off doing it a little here and there yourself. Not sure what an hourly rate would be but the hours stack up quick.

Mainly you can use 4000 grit and 6000 grit wet sand paper.

Best to do a little at a time so you are not poluting the water so much (if on the inside of the tank)

If on the outside that is just as easy but follow up with Micro-Gloss Liquid Abrasive. Just follow the directions and you will be fine.

Micro-Mesh has a kit you can order. I used it on my 55 gallon inside and out as a test and it worked great. I then used it on my 300 gallon show tank and you cant even tell I removed them! The kit was $30.00 if I remember right.

As far as getting someone out there to do it for you I believe they quoted me $150.00 an hour and it would take at least 6 hours for the small spot I had. Mine was made with a green scrubby. My son wanted to clean my tank for me while I was out of town.

It took me almost 9 1/2 hours to get the spot out. I worked on it when I cleaned the tank each week.

Thank you all. I am getting the sense that I should be able to do this (money wise and it sounds it is not that complex). Sorry if i am asking you to repeat yourselves. Is there a specific product that i can go buy? The website has few options and i know i will screw it up :) if you know of a specific place/product i would be grateful.
