View attachment 10626 this is what i have noe the two lines have loc-lines in them pointing down toward the front of the glass, the tank is shaped like a diamond5 sided... their is also another cl set running stright down the back blowing toward the front under the rocks...

same concept...wrong shape.

You could come in very close to where your existing lines come in. The other obvious option would be to go to a bigger pump and use the existing lines plus a few more. Kind of your choice from both an aesthetics stand point and space.

iam using a 800 gph pump on that cl, any idea what size pump would do the trick, i guess i could always turn a bigger pump down with a valve if need be... after doing so cking my setup i have now was design by you.so it should work...if you look back at my cc to bb progress post

Yep. I remember working with you on this and I still think it is working pretty well, just might need to boost the power a little to get what you are looking for. You have two choices: Keep the detritus floating around until it gets into the skimmer and removed, or remove it via syphon. The first choice requires a large pump and well placed outlets. The second doesn't require as much pump, but you need to have the detritus collect somewhere convienient to syphon (this is what you have now).

You may want to just try using a HOT filter to pull out the detritus when you are blowing off your rocks. Once your high shedding phase is over you may find your flow is just fine

reedman if i use my hot magnum and blow off the rocks, and let it run for awhile, to clean the water do i need to do 15 gal water changes every week, you mention something about puting the water through a filter then puting it back into the tank, i was thinking the hot is doing that,is this correct.....btw thanks for al the help....

partly true. You can put the "clean" water back into the tank. The idea here is that you continue to do the water changes to remove nutrients and particulate matter, but you can also use the HOT filter to help in romoving the larger particulate that gets into the water column when you blow off the rocks. Don't stop doing the water changes.

I agree with Reed here Bill...I do my weekly water changes religiously, but in between (during the week), I'll just blow off the rocks and run my H.O.T magnum for a bit, sometimes, I'll just let my skimmer handle it, and then other times, I'll just siphon the water out into a bucket (but allowing the water to pass through something like a filter sock to remove the crap) and then fling the water right back in. Nevertheless, I do my water changes every week regardless of what I did during the week...I think Reed as usual is giving you some good ideas and advice. Reed, they should make you MOTM...again(LOL) :)

LOL Krish. Thanks, but I'm just here to help....we all started at some point and needed help. I was lucky to have Mojo, MtnDewMan, & others...now it's my turn to pass the knowledge

great thaks again, i wonder how many people have went through heavly saturated lr ordeal like iam dealing with, their should be light at the end of the tunnel soon :)

Posting to see progress on your water movement. I don't know if Tunze were mentioned but these are like big ph's that move water really well but they are pricy. In a case like this tank I'd plump a cl bar as mentioned pointing the nozzles down, this will work well in such a tight area but not necessary easy to make.
