WOW!!! I just did that little mod to the kit I bought from Drs. foster and smith last week and it almost works to good. Not only is it a random flow but the flow also seems to have increased alot. It gives it a wider path and shoots it in different directions on start up. I first cut it with a dremel the finished it up on my bench sander so it looks factory. The onlt problem is it wants to push the water out of my tank :badgrin:

Johnehr. You should do this mod for yours. It's easy as pie and works awesome. I'm not really to concerned about trashing the pump. It's the wavemaker I don't want to screw up. :razz:

I just shoved the setup into my tank. No more aquaclear 402 and 802. My toadstool that wasnt doing great is opening up more now with random flow. I might mod one of the powerheads, but after I get some more room in my tank.
