it certainly seems as though i now have dinos in my 30 nem tank. brown, airbubbles, snotty, but almost looks a bit like brown hair algea when i scrub it. i've dealt with enough cyano to know this isn't it, and i think the dead snails over the past couple days makes it final.
anyone who's sucessfully beat it.. what was the trick? high ph? no water changes? h202?
looking to try to narrow down my choices...

oh, and a quick follow up. if anyone who is reading this has been paying any attention to my amino acid dosing thred... completely seperate tank, not shared water, no shared tools, and this tank was never dosed with it.

one more note... anyone i've given corals too need not worry, they were never in this tank...it only houses my nem and clownfish (the clowns have already been moved, since i won't be doing any feeding at all in this tank.. going to have to figure out if i have a place for the nems, who are in bad shape)

earlier reseach says 8.4 to 8.6... i do two part in the 75.. so i should be able to use tha
what i didn't find earlier is time frames for raising, and if the nem in the tank can handle that...

current plan is minimal lighting, high flow, gfo and no feedings. sumpless tank, so a kalk drip is going to be tough, and actually maintaing thatnph would likely require it. hope to see if i can get the nems to heal up a bit or generally not look like they are on their way out with that..
i'll see what i can figure out before the weekend though, and go from there.

dino's are a tough one. i had to throw out my sand and pull all my rock out and place it in a 'black out' tub for a month or so to finally get rid of them.

pulled the fish, no feeding.. lights are on for 3 hours every other day (the nem isn't thrilled), and i ordered an ATO to try to help maintain a higher ph. the light schedule and no feeding are making a dent, and while the nem isn't thrilled, it actually appears to be doing better than it was when the dinos was stronger....
i have been siphoning through a filter sock when i have a few minutes, but no fresh water (changes), just putting the 'filtered' water back. i also increased surface flow a lot, which seems to make the nem happier about the whole thing.
i don't know that i have a handle on it yet, but its not getting worse...

Try going Blackout for 72 continuous hours. Fish dont care and coral will survive...

looks like the shortened lighting and higher pH is working. I've upped the lighting to 4 hours every day instead of the 3 every other. pH is pretty consistent now at 8.35, can't get seem to keep it any higher. Have the ATO setup to so that its running at the surface, and have the surface pretty turbulent, so its kind of almost working a little bit like a kalk drip as its running a lot, but not adding much... and I have the hosed kinked so its even when it does run, its just kind of dripping out. It'll probably ruin the the aqua lifter to be constantly on and off, but its a cheap pump... Its likely that the stability of having it continuously topped off has helped too, at least that makes sense in my thinking.
The nems look much better. I've fed them twice in the process since they aren't getting much light, but just pretty tiny pieces so that there isn't too much waste. Feeling kind of hopeful now as it seems to have settled down a bit. Almost hesitant to post this because the dino's is likely to some how hear it and come back and kick my ass.
