JabbtheHut! I didn't confuse the two it just happened to be a typo, and it was late. However, softies can be lumped into what you were implying which is T5's aren't suited for keeping SPS. Which is a total misnomer. I was suggesting to look for other links showing long and successful European and American tanks with thriving SPS colonies. This is called sharing information and trying to help educate. Your tone and your condescension know no bounds! "Folks like me?" What exactly are "folks like me?" Do you know anything about me or my experience?? Again, how could anyone discuss anything or want to with someone so arrogant and condescending? This is fruitless and pointless. Carlos I apologize your thread has come to this, if some people would put their ego's away for a moment and speak to people as equals this wouldn't happen so often. But every hobbyist here claims to be a professional. Jobiwan is obviously no exception!
"2000 lots of claims were made that high light demanding critters were thriving under PC setups, people will do that to justify the money they spend on a given setup because that is what they want to believe, that's just human nature, those folks are all strangely silent now. MH's are tried and true, let other hobbyists try the newer lighting options, and you will be guaranteed more than adequate lighting"
The same can applied to those who have thrown tons of money at MH setups and even more money at chillers, fans, a/c units etc... I have had quite a few MH setups, from De to Se with varying results.
I have an sps tank which has an 8 bulb t5 setup and everything is growing and do very well, visual results are much more of an indicator then words. I'd be glad to share my pictures with you. However, I'm no expert at all, and I'm here to learn as well, but I don't speak to people the way you do by far. it's rude and inappropriate!
When you have the chance do some searching and you will find these T5 tanks to be on par with any healthy SPS tank kept with Mh.
best of luck.
