what kind of coral is this

when open it has purple and yellow polyps
each open to about 5/8 of a inch and wow it pops
Ill try to get another pict when it opens
got 3 nice 3 1/2 inch frags out of it for $15.

I would say that they look like stressed out Paly's, the only reason I say that is in the beginning I had a lot that looked like that. Maybe to much lighting, or water parameters.
 
From the first picture, my guess would be a stressed clove polyps.
I recently picked up a frag and it is yellow/orange and purple.
Mine looked like the first picture when I first put them in my tank.
 
That's for sure a pipe organ. Mine seems to like being in higher light and medium flow. Once they get bigger they have a really cool growth structure that definitely resembles a pipe organ!!!
 
+1 on clove polyps. The tubes are pretty unmistakable, though if they are hard they may be pipe corals. Cloves typically have a softer tube. Be careful - mine had a suspected nasty reaction with SPS that triggered a tank crash (or that was Fenner's thoughts from WWM).
 
i would say clove polyps too, easy to tell if its pipe organ, cause the base will be red and hard. Cloves are squishy all the way through
 
They are pipe organ coral. What it looks like in the pics sre the very fragile hard tube that the polyp extends from.
