What kind of mushroom would you say this is?

Also, do you think 40 bucks is a good price? The rock is about 4.5" long, and is covered in mushrooms, from 1/3" - 1.5".

I've been eyeing it for a while... Its kind of an interesting color. Maroon purple background and polka dots, with a metallic green/blue glaze.

Hmm.. ok.. Well.. Its in my little reef tank at work. lol. I've had it for like.. 3 weeks now? And still no one has bought it. lol. Keeps growing like mad though. I should put a NFS sign on it until my little tank at home cycles. lol.

IF you have been in love with the coral for weeks now, I think $40 is a good price if you can afford it. Price is relative. I'm not so good with IDing the coralmorphines, but it is a very pretty mushroom. If I had the cash and space, I'd get it. Just me.

That particular one was picked up by a friend, since my tank wasn't done cycling yet. *sigh* Its ok though. I had a single polyp hidden on a peice of live rock in the tank. lol. I chipped the polyp + a bit of rock off the main peice today and brought it home. So at least I have one free polyp. hehe

i think it's good you got a freebie ...you shouldn't have to pay 40 for just some mushrooms even if they're to cute ....to me that's just way to much :doubt:.
you can always ask for mushrooms in the live stock forum for cheaper price like 10 or 15 bucks and even if you just get 1 or 2, they'll spread in no time...trust me
