Actually the inrush happens so fast it won't normally ever be an issue.

I've seen a few in person KRISFAL's is nice
I already talked to him a few times and I'm gonna contact him this weekend for the project start date?

I think I'm gonna have to add two power heads on the coast to coast end of the tank to get desirred flow and just make sure they are black to blend in!
Then I can get away with one pump for CL and one mag 9 for sump return!
Ad just make the return and the power heads go towards the front and the CL shoot back the other way and towards the middle under the rock to get a good washing mashine thing going!

Seems like u gonna split that mag 9? With the 2 rear returns? If you do that you might wanna go with a higher pump like an 18. I used to use 2 mag 18 in my 210 one per return. One pump for your cl like a dart you wouldnt.

Are you using a drum multway drum? If not ,if you plumb your returns with
1 inch returns you will loose alot of flow 1.5 inches to the top then do 1in

I've been looking at the Tunze 6085's
Pretty small and alot of flow. 2113 gph at 14 watts

cool I'll do that with a mag 24 with ball valve to tune down ( Iknow where I can get a near new one cheap) and get a dart for the closed loop?
And two power heads?
Hows that sound

I've been following this one for a while and I have to say that using the return pump for a flow pump IMO is not a good idea. Too much flow through a sump has several problems. Micro bubbles back to the main tank, ineficent skimmer time and same for refugium if your planning on using one.
IMO you should stay with the pump like a mag 9 (eheim would be better IMO) and direct it to one area.

WOW thanks ULTA guy!
I might take that to JASON
And it looks as if I have plenty of room for a CAL reactor too!

well I only want about 600GPH to the sump
I'll have to stick with the mag 9 or equal!!!
So i'll hav to get two of those tunze 6065s of what ever you got me the link for
Those things are worth the 140 each!!!
1700 GPH in that little thing! WOW

I must have sent you the wrong link. The ones I was thinking about were the 6085's.
2113 gph each, and I think they were about $177 eacg
